BOTOX® Cosmetic
Is BOTOX® Cosmetic safe?
BOTOX® Cosmetic is FDA approved and the treatment is safe and effective.

How does BOTOX® Cosmetic work?
BOTOX® Cosmetic prevents the muscles in the face from contracting allowing the muscles to relax and the skin to unwrinkle and smooth. BOTOX® Cosmetic can offer extended relief over the course of long-term treatment to correct the visible signs of stress and aging. How long will my results last? The initial effects are visible within 3 days and results usually last 3 to 4 months. The length of results varies in each individual.

What is treatment like? (back to top)
Using a fine needle the BOTOX® Cosmetic is injected into the specific muscle that is causing the lines and wrinkles. There is minimal pain associated with the treatment and no anesthetic is necessary.

Will there be any downtime after my BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment?
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a no downtime treatment. You can return to your regular activities immediately. You do want to avoid lying down or exercise in the hours following your treatment.

Who can perform BOTOX® Cosmetic treatments? (back to top)
BOTOX® Cosmetic is available only to licensed physicians. However, it may be injected by trained and supervised personnel such as Physician's Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, or even, in some cases, Medical Assistants. Nevertheless, you can rest assured that at Southeastern Dermatology Consultants Dr. Doppelt personally performs all BOTOX® Cosmetic treatments.
